One of the most powerful moments at the Positive Experiences Collective Conference was hearing from Cohort 1 of the Patchwork Programme, a group of cross-sector teams who have spent the past nine months exploring how to kick-start bringing physical literacy into real-world practice.
Working across the UK, these teams focused on key areas, including Education, Community Sport, Families and Early Years, and Systems and Place. Each team co-designed and prototyped new ideas and approaches to create more inclusive and meaningful experiences of movement for children and young people.
What they shared at the conference wasn’t a polished finish line—it was an honest and open reflection on their journeys so far. Sharing their challenges, learning, and the change they’re beginning to see take root.

We’re so proud of what these teams have started—and even more excited about where they’re headed. The Patchwork Programme is about more than projects; it’s about creating a movement of changemakers who are reimagining how we support physical literacy in every setting.
Keep following the journey—and stay tuned for updates on Cohort 2.
